Photography Blitz

It's all digital, Wimp.
It's been cold. I learned how to bake bread today and now all I want to do is bake bread all day long. You let the yeast rise and play a game of Scrabble then punch the dough down then hang out and drink coffee and talk to your friends and punch the dough down again and put it in the oven then let it bake and help your roommate make yogurt.
Then the bread is done and you eat it with fancy cheese and your yogurt roommate and your other roommate.
Biggidy-BLAM-O, what a day.

Past Is Prologue

"If you're asking why I'm out there fundraising, why I'm out there manning the barricades, and why I'm willing to do whatever I can to support the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund...[it's] Because I come from a country without the First Amendment. Because most countries in the world don't have a First Amendment. There are erosions of freedom that occur at the borders of literature. The battles that many people assume were fought and won many years ago are still being fought."
-Neil Gaiman.

"Today we are engaged in a deadly global struggle for those who would intimidate, torture, and murder people for exercising the most basic freedoms. If we are to win this struggle and spread those freedoms, we must keep our own moral compass pointed in a true direction."
-Barack Obama

Fjords are beautiful.
So is the Mojave.
So is the music of Gustav Mahler.
So is this MGMT video.
So is ISO50.
So are these solar-powered aircraft.
So are these photographs by Daniel Shea.
So is America.

Shit. I'm patriotic as fuck now. This is such a strange new feeling. Don't get me wrong, it's a good, I like knowing that America can still walk the walk after all that bullshit. Patriotism is just something I've never experienced in sincerity before.
I guess I'd call it change I can believe in.
